In March 2016, Disney announced that a Big Hero 6 television series is in development and will premiere on Disney XD in 2017. The series takes place immediately after the events of the film, and is created by Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley and executive produced by McCorkle, Schooley and Nick Filippi.
